Fishing the Wild West TV April 2025 Newsletter
It has been a busy winter season on the sports show trail. I was booked at several sports shows from mid-January to March 23. Twenty-two days total at sports shows, not counting travel and a few other stops and appearances in between. However, I must say, I truly enjoy the sports shows. Meeting with people, talking with fellow anglers about everything fishing, giving fishing seminars on the Outdoor Stage about the products I use to help people catch one more fish. Not to mention, encouraging youth and new anglers to get involved in the outdoors and hunting and fishing, is extremely rewarding to me.
During the last show of the season, I received one of the most pleasant surprises of my career on Saturday, March 22, at the Edmonton Boat & Sportsmen’s Show. Just before I started my fishing seminar on the Wild TV Outdoor Stage, the management of the sports shows surprised me with a thank you card signed by everyone and a bottle of Caribou Canadian Whiskey, celebrating both my 10 years of working with the western Canadian Sports Shows and celebrating 10 years of hosting and producing Fishing the Wild West TV (FtWWTV). It was a great honor, and I would like to thank everyone I have worked with at the sports shows over the past 10 years and everyone who has supported FtWWTV over the past 10 years. Thank you all for your time and support! https://www.edmontonboatandsportshow.ca

As mentioned above, Fishing the Wild West TV is shooting its 10th season in 2025. We have a great season lined up with a wide variety of locations to fish and species to target. Most of the networks we work with have gone above and beyond supporting FtWWTV’s 10-year achievement and will give a wide variety of extra airtime and exposure to FtWWTV. We are very grateful for this kind support from not only the networks but also from the companies we work with and our viewers. Thank you all for your time and support!
I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Chuck MacPherson on celebrating his 10th year with FtWWTV. Chuck is the Co-producer, Chief Editor, #1 cameraman, along with wearing many other hats during the season. He has been shooting FtWWTV with me since season #1. Along with the many titles Chuck has/does for FtWWTV, he is also there as a friend for support with the many ups and downs throughout the season and the challenges of life on the road/water. Congratulations, Chuck and thank you for your time and support!

Some big news!
Westlock Powersports & Marine (WPM) out of Westlock, Alberta, is a well-known family-owned Tracker Boat, Ranger Boat, and Powersports dealer throughout Alberta and neighboring provinces, and in October 2024, WPM celebrated its 10th anniversary. Fishing the Wild West TV and Westlock Powersports & Marine have joined forces, and we at FtWWTV are honored to have our name associated with WPM and look forward to working with this amazing company moving forward.

The Wild Cookhouse, brought to you by Hi Mountain Seasonings and featured on each episode of FtWWTV, will also have a new look for season 10. Jenn McDonald will be hosting the Wild Cookhouse.
Jenn is a dedicated hunter, angler, and forager with a deep respect for wildlife and their habitats. Her passion shines in the kitchen, where she transforms the wild game she harvests, the fish she catches, and the mushrooms and plants she forages into delicious, creative dishes. From hearty wild game feasts to delicate fish preparations and unique foraged creations, Jenn’s cuisine reflects her love for nature and her commitment to conservation and sustainable, wholesome food.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you on the road/water for season 10 of Fishing the Wild West TV.
